| | Asean Retakaful International (L) Limited (ARIL) was incorporated on the 17th May 1997 (10th Muharram 1418H) and licensed under the offshore Insurance Act 1990, in the Labuan International Offshore Financial Center (IOFC), Malaysia. ARIL'S establishment ear marked as the first Islamic reinsurance company in the region. Since then it has developed into a specialist retakaful operator providing both the general and family retakaful services.

Our major shareholder, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad (STMB) is the pioneer and the largest takaful operator in the region and is a public company listed in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). STMB's role has been instrumental in the set up of a number of takaful operators in the region by providing the necessary technical expertise to these companies. Besides ARIL, STMB has also participated in the equity shareholding of PT Syarikat Takaful Indonesia, Amana Takaful Sri Lanka and Sharekat Takaful Al Arabia Wal Malaysia, Jeddah. |
