Asean Retakaful International (L) Limited (ARIL) was incorporated on the 17th May 1997 (10th Muharram 1418H) and licensed under the Offshore Insurance Act 1990, in the Labuan International Offshore Financial Center (IOFC), Malaysia. ARIL'S establishment earmarked as the first Islamic reinsurance company in the region. Since then it has developed into a specialist retakaful operator providing both the general and family retakaful services.
Our clients consist of various takaful operators, Islamic Insurance operators, retakaful operators and brokers around the globe. We complement the ever rising global takaful/Islamic insurance market.
Our major shareholder, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad (STMB) is the pioneer and the largest takaful operator in the region and is a public company listed in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE). STMB's role has been instrumental in the set up of a number of takaful operators in the region by providing the necessary technical expertise to these companies. Besides ARIL, STMB has also participated in the equity shareholding of PT Syarikat Takaful Indonesia.
STMB is in turn, a member of Lembaga Tabung Haji, the major provider of Islamic financial services offering a myriad range of innovative Islamic financial products and services, such as Islamic banking and Finance, Islamic Stockbroking and Fund Management, Takaful & Retakaful and Training Services.
Our Religious Supervisory Council consists of prominent Syariah scholars with wide experience in Islamic financial services and takaful. We at ARIL, are guided by the rules and regulations of the Syariah.
